Why Neurological Research ?

In October, 2011 , I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease.

At first, the diagnosis went straight over my head, this can’t be right as I had always lived a very active and healthy life with no real problems.

Like many people, I didn’t really know the “ins and outs” of this condition, thinking it was a elderly person’s disease, but I know otherwise now, as I have made friends that I correspond with all over the world with some of them in their late 30’s and 40’s with Parkinson’s. Like many Neurological Disorders as they progress, general day to day life becomes more difficult and unfortunately I have had to give away my passion of many years in the marine industry due to the effects of Parkinson’s, ( ships and lack of balance just don't mix ) so therefore, I decided to turn my time and effort into my other passion of photography and at the same time raising monies and awareness through my photo sales into research for neurological conditions.

I am the ultimate optimist and I believe that one day we will find a cure, for many of these debilitating neurological disorders and diseases, such as Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone, Alzheimer’s and the list goes on….

Never Give Up Hope. Cheers Dave.

By purchasing my photos you will be assisting Neurological Research through well established Australian certified nonprofit foundations, as I donate part proceeds received from my Photography Sales to the following; Perron Institute. Parkinson’s Western Australia. Shake It Up Australia Foundation.
